Plan a small sample

Repeat the 4-stitch unit across your work. For example, three repeats use 12 pattern stitches; add any edge stitches required by your chosen swatch method. Repeat the 4 chart rows as needed.

Before you begin

Choose a suitable colourwork technique. In stranded knitting, watch the unused yarn across the back and keep the fabric relaxed; long floats may need managing. This chart does not specify edge treatments, cast-on, bind-off or garment construction.
