Generations of personal service

The relationship
is the starting point.

This independent jeweller has served generations of customers in Sydney’s Chinatown. Jewellery, watches and workshop care sit alongside the personal advice that helps people choose, repair and pass on meaningful pieces.

That service was already part of the business. The design task was to give it a clearer digital expression, and to connect what a customer sees online with what happens at the Chinatown counter.

Where the transformation began

From information
to a way forward.

The earlier website already introduced the business, displayed watch brands and described jewellery services. Its contact page offered a general message form, store details and opening hours. The redesign builds on that foundation by giving customers more specific paths into the boutique.

Before: a content reconstruction; the original visual layout could not be recovered. After: a site capture with identifying header and footer omitted, 6 October 2026. Open visual demo

01 / Identity

Let the business’s own story lead.

The redesigned site gives the boutique’s history and jewellery a prominent place, alongside its watch offering. The founding story, bilingual identity and Chinatown setting anchor the experience in a real business and a real community. Customers can see the people and traditions behind the pieces they are considering.

02 / Discovery

A collection that starts a conversation.

A curated selection gives customers a way to explore before visiting. Each piece becomes a starting point for an enquiry, with specialist advice and the final buying conversation remaining with the team. The digital experience supports the considered, personal nature of choosing jewellery.

03 / Connection

Service in a familiar language.

The public website offers English, Chinese and Thai language options, while the boutique lists service in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Thai. Language is part of the customer journey: it helps people find information and feel comfortable taking the next step.

04 / The boutique

Turn an intention into a visit.

A customer looking for a repair, watch service or bespoke consultation has a dedicated starting point. The booking flow asks what help they need and connects them with specialist and time choices. Directions and booking management keep the practical next steps close to the collection and service information.

The customer journey

From a first look to a personal welcome.

  1. Discover

Meet the business, its history and a considered selection of jewellery.

  2. Connect

Ask about a piece and find the right person to help, in a familiar language.

  3. Visit

Continue the conversation at the Chinatown boutique, with time for personal advice.

The project also includes staff tools for the catalogue, customer conversations, appointments and roster. These bring the customer-facing experience closer to the work of running the boutique: keeping pieces up to date, responding to enquiries and preparing for a visit.

Appointment availability is designed around who is on the floor and which visits are already booked. A shared conversation workspace brings email and SMS into the team’s workflow. The purpose is continuity: helping the business carry a conversation from an initial enquiry through to personal service.

The original brief called for a gradual transition, with staff adoption before wider promotion. That principle remains central to the story. A traditional business gains useful digital tools when those tools fit its people, its customers and its everyday routines.

Tradition, carried forward

A new way in.
The same personal welcome.

For this jeweller, digital transformation means extending the reach of a trusted local business and making its expertise easier to discover, wherever a customer’s journey begins.
