Frame24 privacy
Frame24 on iPhone and iPad is an independent manga, anime and travel guide, original comic reader and personal book library. No account, advertising tracker or subscription is required.
Your private library
Reading progress, notes, bookmarks, imported EPUB/PDF/TXT books, saved places and trip plans stay in the app’s storage on your device. Imported books and their text are not sent to AE Studio or content providers. The app does not import WRTE account records. Files may be included in backups managed by your operating system. Optional ebook folder sync is described below. Exporting a backup or original file uses the destination you choose.
Public guide requests
The new iOS and Mac guide editions request public title, city, category and page information from the independent Frame24 API, hosted separately from this website. Public metadata is acquired and stored by the service. Historical snapshots are preserved; scheduled updates cover current-season and week information. Apps do not fall back to direct third-party metadata searches. Book files, private profiles, notes and reading records are not sent to this catalogue service.
Requests include a generic app user agent and normal network information, including IP address. Hosting services retain operational request logs for up to 30 days, which may include request URLs and public search terms. Application telemetry records aggregate route, status and duration information without IP addresses, URLs, queries, referrers, titles or profiles. These records support app functionality and reliability; we do not use them for advertising or cross-service tracking.
Artwork and external services
Opening or downloading published artwork requests images from AE Studio or the credited creator, including Pepper&Carrot. Image providers receive normal network requests. Downloads are stored locally and can be removed in Settings. Opening a source, service or map link takes you to that provider, whose privacy terms apply. Frame24 on iPhone and iPad does not request GPS access or confirm streaming availability in your country.
Your controls
You can remove saved items, imported books and downloaded episodes in the app, export your records, and delete the app’s local data by removing the app. Damaged private files are preserved for recovery rather than silently replaced. There is no account to delete in the new Frame24 guide on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Ebook imports and optional iCloud Drive folder sync
The new iOS and Mac guide editions import your DRM-free EPUB, PDF and TXT files through Apple's document picker. Imported copies, bookmarks, reading progress and display preferences are saved locally. You can optionally connect a folder in your iCloud Drive account. Choose the same folder on each device to sync book files, progress, bookmarks and removals. The app retains local copies for offline reading. Upload and download timing is controlled by iCloud Drive and depends on network access, account availability and storage.
The folder's access bookmark is saved only on your device. Ebook files and personal reading records go to the folder you select, not to AE Studio or the public catalogue API. Apple and your selected storage provider process cloud data under their own terms. Do not share the folder publicly if you wish to keep its contents private. Disconnecting sync keeps local books and does not erase your cloud folder. Removing a synced book removes its active local and shared content; minimal fingerprint/date deletion records are retained to prevent older offline copies from restoring it. You can remove the Frame24 Books folder yourself through Files or Finder. After an iCloud account change, reconnect a folder explicitly before syncing again.
Older player editions and Apple TV
Apple TV and older Mac player editions connect to video services directly from your device. Account tokens, cookies and native Apple sign-in profiles stay on the device; AE Studio does not operate a video account server or sell personal data. Third-party services receive requests needed for playback and account functions. Selected player settings, saved keyword tags and user-supplied IPTV playlist configurations may sync through your iCloud account. Playlist URLs may contain credentials you provide. In those player editions, remove the local Apple sign-in profile, Niconico history and favourites from Profile > Switch Account > Delete Account. Your Apple Account and provider accounts are not deleted. The new Mac guide and iOS guide do not require a Frame24 account.
